Mansfield locals are all talking about “The LOT Downtown”.
The LOT Downtown is a new place to come together and “enjoy life through the arts”. The LOT is a a non-profit outdoor venue in Historic Downtown Mansfield. It provides live music, theater and cinema to the community. In fact, LOT is an acronym for “Live Outdoor Theater”. It opened in 2016 as a joint effort of the City of Mansfield and the not-for-profit organization The LOT Downtown.
The majority of events are free to the public! Time to enjoy a picnic and sit with friends and family or partake in the food trucks available on site. Blankets or lawn chairs are welcome. You can find porta-potties available, PLUS free parking is ample around the venue. Glass containers are not allowed so be sure to bring the proper, safe containers for food or drinks. The lawn area can hold around 1,900 people, and the audience has plenty of space to spill out into all the areas outside of the main lawn.
Upcoming schedule for the spring…
“The Incredibles 2” movie on March 9, Josh Weathers (Mansfield’s own soulful singer and songwriter) on March 16, the Blue Hat Band (cover band playing upbeat party music!) on April 20 and the Brazos Chamber Orchestra on April 27. Much, much more is scheduled through July 4 th , so far.
